Day 1
Montreal Airport-Double Tree
A member of the Aventure Mekoos team will warmly welcome you at Montreal airport and take you to your hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton, ideally located in downtown. Enjoy the many activities offered by the metropolis. Need to relax after your journey? Indulge in a luxury experience in this festive city. Dinner and evening at leisure.
Day 2
Montreal to Mekoos
After breakfast, explore Montreal or go shopping. Lunch is on your own. At 1:00 PM, a coach will pick you up at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel to take you to the Mekoos outfitter (3h30 from Montreal). The Dumoulin family will welcome you with a welcome cocktail. After settling in and receiving your "Grand Froid" equipment, enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by our chef. Then, take advantage of the comfort of our facilities for a good night's sleep.
Day 3
Dog sledding
Experience an unforgettable adventure with Myriam, an experienced musher, and her dogs. Drive your sled with simple commands: “djee” for right, “yap” for left, and “en avant!” to move forward. Dine like trappers in a secluded cabin. Three words to describe this day: “back to basics.” In the evening, relax at the Nordic baths: sauna, dipping in icy waters, and hot tub under the starry sky. Dinner and overnight stay at the inn.
Day 4
Snowshoeing and Maple Feast
Experience the era of New France on snowshoes with your guide as you discover our wildlife. Bring your camera to capture landscapes and animals. Your guide will explain the importance of trapping for wildlife balance and will demonstrate various capture methods. Return to the outfitter and depart for the sugar shack for lunch. Indulge in Quebecois dishes drizzled with maple syrup.
Day 5
White fishing, snowmobiling, and New Year!
This morning, participate in a traditional Inuit activity: ice fishing! Settle into a warm cabin, drill a hole in the ice, and tease the trout. In the afternoon, your guide will explain the safety instructions and how snowmobiles work. Explore the territory of Mekoos by snowmobile. For dinner, the chef prepares a traditional Quebec menu, followed by sweet delights. A singer will entertain the evening with sing-along songs for a typically Quebec New Year's Day. What an evening!
Day 6
Snowmobile Day
Today, head south and then turn back north! On the road! Discover the vast frozen expanse of the Kiamika reservoir, 18 km long and 5 km wide. Enjoy the thrilling sensations of driving and the wonder of this pure and invigorating spectacle. Quebec wildlife is an integral part of this landscape. Head back to Chute-Saint-Philippe to admire the largest deer damage in the region.
Day 7
Until next time
After a delicious breakfast, the entire team at the Mekoos outfitter will bid you their final farewell until your next visit with us! The coach will take you to Trudeau Airport departing from Mekoos around 10 AM.
