FISHING IN MINGANIE

To the east of the average North Shore, at the border of the old Labrador, in the heart of the Mingan archipelago and 8 km from the village of Baie-Johan-Beetz, this fishing territory enjoys an exceptional setting, infused with sea spray and the scents of the sea, peat bogs, and boreal forest. Every morning, as you ascend the river to enjoy its many salmon pools, you will decide with your guide where the adventure begins and how far you want it to take you. This immersive and unique stay is offered to only a few privileged anglers, as we only receive 6 per stay. Located at the confluence of the Corneille River and the majestic Gulf of St. Lawrence, the La Corneille lodge is established on a peninsula of the archipelago, inviting you to retreat from the world in a private and enchanting setting. Its territory, organized around the Corneille River, represents a concentration of the northern maritime and boreal ecosystem, completely preserved and only accessible from the lodge.
Typical fishing day

Atlantic salmon and trout fishing

On the day of your arrival and departure, you will have the opportunity to fish only around the lodge. Atlantic salmon fishing: Breakfast is served from 7 AM. Departure from the lodge is generally set for 8 AM with a guide for two fishermen, and return at 12 PM for lunch at the lodge. The pools are left to rest from 12 PM to 3 PM. At 3 PM, back to fishing with a rotation on the pools between groups of two fishermen, so you will not fish the same pools in the morning and afternoon. At 6 PM return to the lodge where a light snack is served as an appetizer in the common lounge. From 7 PM dinner is served in the common dining room. Trout fishing: Trout fishing requires going upstream further than for salmon, so departure is at 8 AM with provisions for a lunch or a shore lunch and return to the lodge at 6 PM, under the same conditions as for the return of a day of salmon fishing.
